auld lang syne

Nothing like meeting up with old friends to make one feel the passing of time. Things start feeling especially weird when you end up looking at the dear old face across the table from you, listening to him / her talk of things both of you used to love, and realising, quite suddenly, how you don't care for these things anymore. The sense of detachment can be quite disorientating.
