Here's new US Poet Laureate's Kay Ryan's record of her traumatic encounter with the AWP Conference. It's an interesting, lively essay - though its attraction for me was not so much its observations and insights, but the sense that I was hearing someone else articulate ideas that I've long held but had never dared to think were quite legitimate.
