fanatic fandom

My other blog is a BMW. But this is a bandanna-pink Volkswagen Beetle - for flirty frivolous fun and fanatic fandom. This is where i get to play the bimbonic-geek and rave, enthuse, bitch and rant about anything and everything under the sun. Feel free to chip in!

ambulances

Seeing and hearing ambulances speeding down the roads with their sirens screaming and lights flashing always makes me feel ... i don't know. A quickening of the heart, i guess? Not worry or anxiety on behalf of the person on the way to hospital and his/her family, because that would be overstating it -- but certainly, a sense of life being fragile and the whole apparently safe and secure superstructure being really something that is vulnerable to being torn apart any time, and a momentary being pulled away from that familiar sense of one's consciousness being the centre of one's perception and thus of one's perceived universe, towards an awareness of other similarly self-centred (and i used that word in the descriptive sense, not as a moral judgement) consciousnesses all sharing this same planetary space, and a sense of the world as always somehow careening towards the edge of some huge and unwanted disaster.
