fanatic fandom

My other blog is a BMW. But this is a bandanna-pink Volkswagen Beetle - for flirty frivolous fun and fanatic fandom. This is where i get to play the bimbonic-geek and rave, enthuse, bitch and rant about anything and everything under the sun. Feel free to chip in!

notes from a small island

A rather poignant (to me) article on Singapore's space issue.
.
i don't blame our leaders. That this country even exists is a miracle to begin with. But we're just too small for all the things that we want to be as a nation. Or, maybe, it's not just a mismatch between aspirations and resources. Maybe we're just too small, period.
.
Nothing lasts for long here. Already, i'm missing my favourite 24-hour neighbourhood prata shop, in anticipation of what i know will happen sooner or later. The long row of shophouses where it's located has been undergoing demolition and re-development for over a year, and there are only a few shops left standing now. The prata shop is one of them. But i know it will be gone soon, and together with it, my favourite location for late-night suppers with friends over some of the best cheap Indian food anywhere on this island. i guess that means i'll just have to go there for supper more often while it's still around.
