People always told her that she was very honest with herself. And that she was very brave to be so honest. It rather mystified her that they should think it worth saying: what other way was there to be, if not honest with yourself? If things were to be made better, then surely it was necessary to know what was wrong in the first place -- and how else to do that, if not by being truthful?
