a good start
It's hard to find happy new year poems. All the ones posted by the poet friends on Facebook are sortof sad and reflective, or at least mellow and autumnal, Brahmsian. i guess that must be because all the happy poets are out partying rather than at home writing new year poems.
.
No time to attempt a counter-cultural happy new year poem meself, but here's to driving to an old friend's new place with bread-and-butter pudding in the car boot, Mozart on the radio, the streets oh so wonderfully clear of traffic, and a morning with a tumbling running whirling toddler, pretty darned good singing, nice food, and friendly conversation.
.
Welcome 2013 - you've gotten off to a good start so far. i almost want to say, Stay good. But then i guess i should know better than to be trying to boss a year around.
