sees essence who can't
face limitation.

Bracing myself for yet more leavings. i'm sure XW will be heading off to Tempe-land soon, the moment he finds a job, and once that happens i'm fairly certain he won't be coming back. And D -- who knows what she'll find in Berlin. My sense is that she won't be coming back here for the long-term after her stint is up.

i think that years of being able to see essence, and hence having people do exactly what i knew in my heart they would do, has made me more of a pragmatist than i'd have thought. i wonder which is preferable: to know beforehand and be able to prepare myself accordingly, yet have to deal with the burden of knowledge; or not to know and be caught unawares, but in the interim to enjoy the unalloyed pleasures of blissful ignorance.
