6-0. For a World Cup scoreline, that's on the same level as... as a double Nobel victory (for Peace and Literature, say) going to one person in the same year. Or something near that, anyway.

It's not just the scoreline, though. It's the way the Argentine team played with such style, such panache, such beauty. Pure poetry in motion.

Of course, we all know that a single massacre in the qualifying rounds ain't gonna make no difference if they don't maintain their form for the rest of the tournament, but as far as i'm concerned, yesterday's match was enough to put this Argentinian squad right up there among the legendary heroes of the sport, regardless of their subsequent performance.

Now let's all cross our fingers and pray to see them play on July 9.
