i wish it would rain down

It's been raining steadily almost the whole day, and the rain is only just starting to let up. It's gorgeous here when it rains, the temperatures soft and gentle, a murmuring in the air. All that heat and dust and the heaviness in the air get washed away; it's as if the world is beginning anew.

So often, all we need is a fresh start. Some way of erasing the mistakes of the past even as we learn from them, some way of arriving at a tabula rasa, from which to build anew. i suppose, that's the whole point of forgiveness. To give the gift of a clean slate.

If not for the flooding it would cause, and the fact that i do like sunshine too, i almost wish the rain would never stop. It's always been, and i think always will be, one of my favourite things about this country.
