pragmatic idealism

There's a long post (rant!) i'm going to have to write one day about idealists who don't take reality into account when fighting for their ideals. For some reason they really really get on my nerves. Even more than realists with no ideals -- those i find sad and frightening, but i don't get irritated. Several years ago, a friend of mine identified himself as a pragmatic idealist. Now those are the kind of people i can talk to.
