obsession much?

So, at some point, you stop to take stock, and realise that in the last 2 years, of all the good or at least vaguely decent work you have completed:

2 essays,
5 poems, and
1 short story
.
have involved geography / geology and place in some form or another, either as central metaphor / symbol, or as literal subject matter.
.
And that's not even counting the work-in-progress that will hopefully one day be good enough.

Clearly, your super-inspirational geography teachers back in secondary school have a lot to answer for......
