permanent head damage, or, the (re)turn to JM Coetzee

i really should learn to trust my intuition more. Even when it comes to the intellectual, head-y stuff. So what do i find online today while doing a casual Google search on current Coetzee scholarship...

This book: Landscapes of Holocaust Postmemory (Brett Kaplan, 2010), which has an entire section on Holocaust references in Coetzee's work.

And this research paper, unfortunately not yet available to the public:
Bystander Narratives: The Fiction of J.M. Coetzee and the Holocaust (Craig Mitchell Smith, 2011)
Maybe i should write to this guy and ask for permission to take a look...

Compare with this blogpost from waaaaaay back in 2008, when i was going through the throes of my Coetzee obsession (which i don't think has ever really died.....): this wonderfully brilliant and prescient thing i wrote, almost as an aside, right at the end of that blogpost:
