poet at heart

It's exactly one month since the start of the SCWP -- and i now have the answers i came here to find. i am a poet, after all. All the essays i write -- the good ones, at least -- seem to want to be poetry. It's actually kinda funny.

Sometimes, in order to discover what you really want, you just have to head off in the opposite direction for a while.

i also know now that i do not want to study creative writing in the US. Nothing against the US -- i think it's a deeply fascinating country. But i think my writing is fundamentally more British in sensibility, though i can't quite articulate in what ways. Hmmmm. Research topic for a PhD in creative writing...?
